Excuse my ignorance, but I am curious if these to/from addresses are connected to any public ledger like memepool, etc. Isn't the whole point of blockchain and smart contracts to connect to an unchangeable, 'etched-in-stone' public ledger of sorts? I am just curious if this app does that or if these addresses are just 'demo numbers' and not really connected to anything.

The app is interacting with a real smart contract and real wallets. Smart contract was deployed on Mumbai testnet and can be viewed on an explorer like Polygonscan: mumbai.polygonscan.com/

I found the solution. you just have to switch network from "mumbai" to "goerli". That's it, you're done.
