I guess i'm the only one that appreciated that there were no words that i had to fast forward through hahaha understood it, looks more than easy but now i have to find my specific machine because i only have one buttonhole setting on my dial. thanks!!

@@BrotherSews thank you!! i think i have a newer model and ended up retrieving the instruction manual for my machine (easy peasy...just bought it a week ago) and after following instructions including how to shorten my machines stitches, i ended up with the most perfect button hole in just one step on my machine but everything else was generally the same on the video. thanks again!!

So then do you use a knife to cut a slit? I would have thought it could fray? I watched this later at night with my volume on zero. I had no idea there was no sound until i read the comments. It was perfect without sound.

When cutting open the center of your buttonhole with your seam ripper, the edges should not fray because of the satin stitches.

@@BrotherSews thanks. I had a little play around on some scrap fabric. I found it quite tricky. The stitch pattern is a zigzag one is that correct? At first they are wide stitches and then get smaller towards the end. Im trying to press my foot evenly. The opposite side of the fabric looks neater than the side im working on. Is that correct? Are we working on the back side of it?

I have a xm2701 and my dials look nothing like that. I wish you would show how to use the dials on different versions, this was really not helpful.
