Thank you … I haven’t got the affinity photo yet but I look forward to trying it out … you have explained it very simply and hope I remember what you’ve said when I do

I'm glad you think so. It's surprising how often techniques like this can come iun useful when editing photos. It's also nice to be able to create your own cards.

Thanks. So helpful. A well-organized set of instructions. Do you have a preference for card photo paper?
@RobinWhalley10 ай бұрын
Thanks. I don't have a preference for a particular paper. I tend to buy from Online Paper and pick whatever suits my needs. I don't like the matt surfaces much as they tend not to reproduce the colours as nicely as satin. They also seem to get dirty more easily when handled.

Great video. I created the template. Very first this I have ever done in affinity. V1. However, when I printed it, it centered the image in the middle of the card. Any suggestions please. Thank you
@RobinWhalley7 ай бұрын
That sounds like it's you printer settings and nothing to do with Affinit Photo. Check you have the page orientation set correctly when printing.

Thanks, the % hint is great, for years I have been doing it by the inch, ugh. How do you set up to print the inside of the greeting card?
@RobinWhalley10 ай бұрын
Yes, the % setting isn't obvious. As for setting up the inside of the greetings card, create it as a separate design using another image. Then for the layout, it's just the same as for the back of the card, using guides to line up the text elements.
@josmith155110 ай бұрын
Thank you. I have been using the old Serif page x7, I checked but it doesn't do percentages. I do like its card set up as you don't have to figure out how to feed the paper to get both sides. I need to do some experimenting with that.@@RobinWhalley

Excellent Robin. I will try this over the weekend. Do you use printer paper of your choice or the blank cards available from hobby stores?
@RobinWhalley10 ай бұрын
I hope it works for you. I tend to buy blank cards from Online Paper. I have tried a few different brands from them, all with good results.

Oops … I couldn’t figure out how to ‘undo’ something …. Do I just delete the layer and re-do? I actually did a practice one late last night and printed it … I just need to keep practicing 😊. So exciting
@RobinWhalley9 ай бұрын
@@bimmermom You can undo using the Edit menu or the history panel. I will probably do a video on this some time soon. If you don't know how to use these, yes, just delete the layer and create it again.
