I will then show you how to create a line graph with multiple lines or data sets on them. Great tutorial! Very clear, good pace-not too fast or slow. My question is can I have one series that covers the entire graph width (from beginning date to ending date on horizontal axis) and a second series that only covers data collected on a weekly basis (it wouldn't be the entire width, only one date at a time)?

Hi, great tutorial thank you. I would like to create a chart for my business daily takings. I understand how to do this to a point and have practiced what you explain in the tutorial. However, I am not sure how show the days for each month. For example, we started trading again on April 13th and we do not open on Mondays (soon to be Mon & Tues). Also when I import the figures from my Square POS system the data goes from left to right so not in columns as you have shown. I just need to be able to plot a chart to make a comparison of each month please. Cheers

This is good info - but you don't have to type in the names for those series, you can just click on the cell containing the series name for each one in that xolumn's header and Excel will use it. 👍👍😎

Thanks! I'm trying to build something maybe similar to this but with 100s of lines on a graph. It's to show employee progression by salary grade over time in my organisation and to possible fit a line of best fit through everything to show some sort of average. Do you think this method is adequate? Any tips or steer would be great please. I think this might be the way to go. Hi mate, good explanation but the results are wrong. Africa starts from 2,180,000 in the year 2000 but on the chart, it starts from 4,500,000.
