I followed your steps and it worked perfectly. But I have a little problem. I’m working over a black and white logo. The effect works perfectly on top of the color black, but it doesn’t work on top of the white. Do you know what can I do to fix that?

for me the burn effect doesn't look anything like this. It starts from the top and goes to the bottom... is this a new update in After effects?
