@@Catthepunk From what I understand, you can pretty much set it up in the same exact way as is depicted in this video, just like any other memory palace. If it helps, you can travel through the area within the video game just as he is doing in this video. As long as the locations each contain a unique feature, it should work fine. There are many competitive memorizers that use virtual memory palaces. There is even a video here on KZbin demonstrating it within Super Mario 64.

A video showing how to use it when learning stuff for school would be very helpfull
@jonathanp___________36062 жыл бұрын
Yes. I would love to see what insights would pop up. Memory Sports seems to be focused on speed of memorising, thus it makes sense to have more sparsely spaced places, so you can tell at a glance of your mind's eye. When doing this for education, you have more time to review your memory palace which means that you will be able to tell close together places apart more easily. Still you might want to be careful to avoid using each of a pair of identical items as place as it could lead to mixing up the information stored in those places. That said, the more I write, the more I realise how much I have to learn. I'd definitely like to see a video on building a memory palace for education, plus one on applying it as well.

School fucking sucks, instead of giving us the techniques and teach us how to actually learn something, they fucking just throws information into our face and expect us to absorb all of it, ALL OF IT, without even showing us how to. They always says "Practice this, practice that" or "Be Patient"... BUT HOW THE FUCK DO WE PRACTICE?, HOW THE FUCK DO WE LEARN? You don't even how show us how to walk, how the fuck do we supposed to make it? My whole childhood are always surrounded with useless points and grades. I'm always being call the best but never in my whole life I felt I have knowledge

Why wouldn't you put loci close together for memory sports, while you would for education? What specific advantage does it give you for memory sports that you don't feel you need (at least as much) for education? How do the conditions of an educational setting make it more attractive to put loci close together, etc?
@MemorysportsTV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! For memory sports I prefer to have a maximal smooth "walk" through my locations. It has to feel natural and clear from the beginning. No thinking, just turning towards the next location and go. For education I prefer to fit more locations into a room to have more locations in order to learn the material. I will review a lot of times and therefor" even not so "smooth" places will work very well. My priority is to have many locations and not to have a super smoth walk through my journey.

Hello. This is a great demo sir! I'll be using these locations to memorize some foreign vocabulary, I'm sure you won't mind :) When you do the reviewing, do you walk or "teleport" from one location to the next and how big or small does objects appear in your minds eye? Also, are the surroundings detailed or just sort of blurry or do you need to visualize them at all to help you know where you are? Thanks in advance!
@capricornmir Жыл бұрын
How are you going to memorise the vocabulary by mind maps? There are other mnemonics like sound alike for that
@mangomight7938 Жыл бұрын
@@capricornmir I feel like a lot of words have associations to images for me and I think for a lot of people , not only the nouns but verbs and adjectives and other word classes too. But a simple noun example could be gato which means cat in Spanish, then in Swedish (my mother tounge) "gata" means street. I can simply see a cat walking down the street to make the association.
@MemorysportsTV Жыл бұрын
Just saw your comment. The "walking" is rather a "gliding" but no teleportation. The object has about the size of how it would look like in reality but not exceeds the location size. Surroundings are rather non existing. I just don't pay attention.
@oliverwarren1074 Жыл бұрын
@@mangomight7938 I think you could use this method to memorise words but I don't see the need; everyone in the world learns languages without issue without using this method so it's clearly not required. Meanwhile nobody in the world can memorise large volumes of information for competitions etc. (as per purpose of this video) WITHOUT using this method (or similar memory techniques). So clearly its in no way required for language learning. That's not to say you can't use it but the idea that it will help you learn languages is I think, baseless.

Is nutrition important for our memory or just techniques? Which diet is suitable for this memory sport?
@MemorysportsTV Жыл бұрын
I think nutrition is key in the long run. If you're young up to your 30's your body compensates a lot. However this changes when you get older. Good sleep and a nutrition that keeps your healthy and happy (!) is the way to go. If ice cream makes you happy from time to time don't punish yourself by not getting.

Hey Man, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I have a question about the method of using memory palaces. I understand that u use house maps for your memory palaces, but I am wondering if you write down the places or just define the spots. This method sounds very interesting, and as a newcomer to this space, I am curious about how to create memory palaces of unfamiliar places. The memory palace I have made is my house room, so I am familiar with all the places. Can you provide any guidance on how to create memory palaces of unfamiliar places? Thank you.
@MemorysportsTV Жыл бұрын
You can find other videos on this topic here on the channel. However when I go to a new place, i.e. when I'm on vacaction, I would create a memory palace there as well. I would be more cautious, repeat them more often and write them down. Most important: review them and use them frequently when you're back home.
