We use the Neve WordPress theme to create a demo starter site for a minimalist blog, and then build it out, style, add posts, change the archive page and even add a popup to our site-all for FREE!

I love minimalistic concept. I always say to my clients: if you wanna get a great design keep it simple and clear. I like Neve theme, I use the free version, it's more than enough for me. They also seem to change automatically when you change the h1 heading of the built-in pages. Hi, Zyad. Many thanks for the feedback and helps me to keep motivated and pushing out new content. Your question is a very, very difficult one to answer! But here are a few things you can consider: Neve, currently has many starter templates, for Gutenberg, Elementor, Brizy and Beaver Builder. They also have their own addons for the Gutenberg editor. Blocksy is still new with limited templates currently, at this time, only 3 using Elementor. Blocksy though gives you far more control over your header, footer, and styling, which is awesome. I think both of these themes are excellent. To choose, if I need more layouts, then I choose Neve. If i want to build totally from scratch, I will go for Blocksy. (Blocksy doesn't have a pro version yet, but will come out later this year.) Hope this helps. Have a great day! JP

I keep getting a message that adding blocks to the pop up are only available in pro. So I’m assuming it’s no longer free. I built the whole thing and couldn’t publish at the end. Hi man, thanks for the tutorial, since you're one of the only people talking about the NEVE Minimalist Blog - Do you know how to display a permanent text available on the Blog Archive Post page? In other words, say you wanna write something before showing all the blog posts like my name is Charles and I make a blog post every day, and then you want to show all your blog posts on that News or (my journal page) do you know how to do so? Hi, Vincent Actually you can choose the page builder. When you install Neve, it will give you the option which page builder to choose. For this tutorial we had purposefully chosen Gutenberg and not Elementor. They also have other builders included, like Beaver Builder, Thrive Architect and Brizy. When time allows, I'll tackle some of those builders in future tutorials. Thanks for the support and feedback!
