Create a Pitch Rise or Pitch Fall sound on the Yamaha Montage or MODX using the Pitch EG.
In the Pitch EG page of an Element, Set a low value for Attack Level and high values for Decay and Release. Attack Time will determine the rate at which the destination pitch is reached. PEG Depth determines the amount or intensity of the change in pitch. For the opposite effect, set a high value for Attack Time and low values for Decay and Release.

The LEVEL ATTACK is the rise/fall of the pitch parameter. Does the numeric value = a semitone or tone? If I play a C note and the Level Attack is 127, what is the resulting note rise to? THANKS

No, the value of that will depend on the Pitch EG Depth/Intensity.

Thanks. This is helpful. But I may be missing something here. A true portamento effect will glide up or glide down, based on the previous note played. This seems to only be able to glide in a single direction. Is there an actual portamento function in the modx (plus)? Thanks.

Select the part and Edit, go to the Pitch Tab and set the Pitch Bend Range to 12.

It can be done on any synth with a pitch envelope
