Just and FYI Turn off the background music - your mic puts you in a tunnel and the background music makes if VERY Hard to hear and understand you.

Hi, I guess you are talking about the part at about timestamp 8.05 where I explain how to change the color of the grey colored rectangle shape. If you have created a normal shape, before convert it to a smart object (as I explained in the video) that should work. If you double-click on the smart object icon, another file will open. Inside of that file (named something like "Rectangle 2." you will see the rectangle shape icon in the Layers panel. Just double-click that icon and the color picker will appear for you to choose any color. Once done save the file, go back to your project file and you will see the change. Maybe you missed one step that's why it didn't work.
