I love the idea of this splint instead of the bulky outrigger. Would any 1 in elastic work? Also in the other video of how it is used in a functional activity the elastic strap looks like it was put in a bit differently. Was that one wrapped around each digit seperately?

Any 1 in elastic will work as long as its not too bulky on the finger. The second video does show a splint with individually wrapped elastic straps. Just a different option. Thanks for watching!

Great instructional video 👍🏽 I only wish I could have seen a functional task at the end - perhaps the patient lifting something up to show thumb opposition to index and middle finger. Can a patient do that while wearing this splint? Again, Thank you 🙏🏽

it looks like the cut out for the MCPs does not include the small finger MCP. Is that correct?
@SpivackJ3 жыл бұрын
The cutout should be wide enough to allow all MCPJs to flex fully. After the video was taken, adjustments were made to widen the cutout to allow the small finger to flex fully. Allowing full MCPJ flexion is essential to avoiding contracture. Great observation!

what material did you use?
@SpivackJ3 жыл бұрын
Orfilight is the material I used in this case. Light weight, semi rigid material of any kind would work.
