Dealing with background noise when trying to hear something being said is a huge problem for a lot of autistics. It would be welcoming to not have to deal with that so it's easier to get the information you're trying to give us.

That's a thing?? I thought it was just me. Up until a year or two ago I couldn't work out why even though I could hear what was being said and knew the meaning of all the words being used, it felt like I couldn't 'hear'.

My daughter has moved out so I have a room just for me now. I hate small spaces as I I'm claustrophobic, yet I can't be in a bare, bland space. I can't have lots of bright colours. I like black and green the best and I like deep and dark colours. People always say,"You need more colour!" No I don't! 😂

Dark colors tend to give the feelings safety and comfort, like in the belly of a mother, if done right.

Good video Dan! For the next one I would recommend turning the music down and maybe finding a different less party type song it is quite distracting. Also, the white flashes in between the different ways to create a sensory space were quite bright however I am watching in the dark so that probably affected my sensitivity to light. Other than that this is useful and great tips 👍

A good collection of ideas but the not background music drove me to major distraction mode. I had to mute and read the subtitles!

A supermarket near to me has a sensory hour. Once a week. I went in one day and couldn't work out why I felt so calm. Then I saw a sign about the sensory hour. They lower the volume of the music and turn off half of the lights. Why can't they do that all the time?

Ironically, the music and sound effects in this video is distractingly loud. Two minutes in and it’s sensory overload. I can’t finish it.

I made it to 3' and had to give up for the same reason. The music's too frenetic and overwhelming for me.

It's strange, I can handle bright sunlight( I live in Australia, it's blindingly bright), candles are great, lightning is beautiful. But cold white light, artificial light is awful, almost painful. My light bulbs have to be the old school yellow type
