Thanks! Glad this was helpful! I’m certainly no KZbinr. Really just want to throw something out there if I think it might help and hasn’t already been shown on the platform. With that said, I’m working on a video that might prove to be pretty interesting so stay tuned.

Thanks Errick...really helpful ..and like the way you work by feeling out the grade as you go using different tools and techniques.

Glad you like it Alex! I think there are lots of ways to get through a grade and I suck at making decisions in the face of a bunch of options. That system really helps to guide me to what feels like the natural endpoint of a grade with just a few criteria to base my desired look on.

hi Errick, could you explain the last compounded node (Grain)? there are two more nodes inside..thanx for sharing

Sure. My go-to method for grain is using Filmconvert. However, since I use just use the standard profile for grain structure, it expects an sRGB input foundation to create the grain over. So I created a color space transform node that goes from Timeline to sRGB, then placed my Filmconvert node, then another color space transform node going from sRGB back to the Timeline space. It may seem unnecessary, but I found that just applying the grain standalone without that transform loop made the grain structure look pretty strange. Pretty much my number one rule for using any lut or plugin is to make sure you're bringing in the input it expects so that it works as intended. I do a similar thing in my video on using LUTs in RCM.
