Actually it's obsolete and no longer supported by android studio 3.6 or higher versions

It's good that you are letting people get things done and i appreciate that, but for 2020 this tutorial fells very old. Here my recommendations: * Use Kotlin instead of Java * Vector Drawables instead of png files * View Binding instead of findViewById() * Motion Layout instead of animation files

There should not be any problem with that but just try to create a dummy project to check if it works or not. Also clean and rebuild the project.

Actually, some of the properties are not shown by default but if you write full syntax i.e android:duration="VALUE" then it will be initialize.

Well, this might help you. It's better to use a Themed background for your starting activity but if you don't want the blank screen appears before launching main activity you can define your activity like this: Add android:windowDisablePreview to your AppTheme in res/values/styles.xml: true Then set your activity theme in your manifest: ... P.S: Setting android:windowDisablePreview has no effect on your activity background, so you have nothing to worry.
