Hey thanks for the tutorial! Just subbed as it seems you push some nice vids with high frequency. One question, do you consider making a tutorial for water reflections? This is something i cannot wrap my head around, and I only find 3D stuff.

lol thanks! Basically it’s just a matter of displacing each pixel as the dark part of the noise moves through it. The shader looks at each pixel on the screen and then, if there’s dark noise underneath it, it pushes it over a bit. If it’s white, then it leaves the pixel in the original position. This is done each frame as the noise moves to make it look like ripples.

it can take a little bit to wrap your head around it, but its not as hard as it looks :) you might also check out visual shaders in Godot - they don't require you to code and, instead, let you chain blocks together to make your shader. its a little more beginner friendly and can do mostly the same stuff as coding it.
