This is not your first rodeo. Nice introduction, great content and conclusion. Exactly the structure a tutorial should take. Very in depth and all questions answered. No poor attempt to be funny, no "like" or "basically" throughout, and good diction. Nicely done; you helped me a lot.

This was an extremely helpful tutorial. I have been working with a colleague trying to get Adobe Captivate to work for an interactive training, but we ran into some issues. So I started searching KZbin to see what options were available in PowerPoint. While I won't be creating a quiz, just knowing about the interactive buttons and the "browsed at a kiosk" option should do the trick! Thank you, thank you!

Thanks for showing me two great features Action buttons and the Kiosk view.. As a way of making a FREE quiz it is pretty handy but the questions below ...force answers ? .. collect score... give feedback clear , concise, good pace, and the barking dog made it all real !!

There is a way to put in a "shaped" action button. Put in, for example, the circle. Then put an action button on top of it with no color for outline and no color for fill. You may have to select the text color.

Hi, I've been on cloud nine making learning games with powerpoint. Could you do a tutorial on how to code in vba to create a drag and drop self checking activity in powerpoint? I've made one by splicing together bits of code i've found online. However I want to understand how to create it myself.
@TheTechTrain3 жыл бұрын
Drag and drop is not brilliant in PowerPoint in my opinion, so I've never really used it much. I'll keep my eye on things and see if it becomes more effective.
@MathWitMsJ3 жыл бұрын
@@TheTechTrain Ya, I found stuff online and pieced something together, but unfortunately it isn't mac compatible. Is there another way to create drag and drop activities? I would love to use this concept for a myriad of topics. for example matching quadratics in standard form to their factors, or labelling a cell, or matching a graph with it's equation.
@TheTechTrain3 жыл бұрын
Are you looking to do this on a Mac?
@MathWitMsJ3 жыл бұрын
@@TheTechTrain id prefer it to be cross platform so that students/ teachers could use it no matter what device they have. I love the idea of self checking activities as it makes the learning fun.

I only use PCs, so don't have any experience with Mac's, and can't check for compatibility. However I am preparing to start producing a video series looking at Google Apps, and creating code to work with Docs, Sheets and Slides, so this might be a better option?

Hi again. I have managed to create a multiple choice quiz for my Grade 1 kids using the concepts taught here. Basically the way it works is that they have three options, the correct one gets a tick on the answer and the incorrect one gets a cross on the answer. I used the "next" action button to go to the next question and it works perfectly on phones, however I tested it on my phone and the "next" button takes me to the incorrect slide... I have checked that my hyperlinks are correct. I also saved the project as a ppsx when I sent it out for testing. Is this okay or should I just use the general format?

I see someone already asked how to create a quiz where the student cannot move forward without answering. The answer is to use a macro. Could you provide a link to the spefici video showing how to use macros to do this? I would like to set this up so after selecting the correct answer, the NEXT button on the "CORREST!" slide goes to the next question rather than to the last slide viewed.. Can you please direct me to a specific video showing how to do that?
@TheTechTrain4 жыл бұрын
You don't actually need to use a macro. Just go to Slide Show > Set Up Show and choose 'Browsed at a kiosk'. They now can't move forward without clicking a button.

hi dear, I have a big problem with the audio! When I insert an audio file from my PC into a slide !, I set the playback as "Automatically, show off during playback, rewind after playback". Now when the slide I inserted my audio file opens the first time, it works fine. but when I come back another time, the audio file does not work anymore !? does not it start automatically anymore ?! do you know by chance how can I solve my problem ?! Can you help me solve this problem ?! Many thanks in advance..

Hmmmm. Very interesting. The concept is good but: 1) What prevents the student from clicking on the NEXT button without actually answering the question? Can the NEXT button be made visible, only after answering the question correctly? 2) Why come back to the question after getting the answer right, just to click on the NEXT button? Is there a way to go directly from the CORRECT slide to the next question? And 3) Is there a way of inputting the student's name and class prior to taking the quiz? Say inserting some form fields?
@TheTechTrain8 жыл бұрын
+BazzaBoy1951 Thank you for all your suggestions! You're absolutely correct on all points - this is a weak design if used as anything other than a bit of fun. Everything you've suggested can be done, and I have some tutorials on here which show how, but it requires VBA coding. Perhaps I might do a tutorial which shows how to address your points using VBA. In the meantime you might take a look at some of the PowerPoint VBA tutorials on this channel.
