What if the person you're selecting is exhaling smoke and you want to get the smoke in? Justin Odisho...

There's a part where he selects a Grow or Expand option. There should be another to shrink the selection. You'd select that stroke would be inside the subject... and if you keep doing the action, it will just keep making smaller outlines inside the subject.
