Woke up at 7:20 And was supposed to be a kilometre away at my friends to help her with car at the mechanics in town. Just minimalised my wardrobe 2 weeks ago. Took me 1 minute to get dressed. Everything is comfortable and Like. Intentionally not getting more,today got the last missing piece too. Could have less ,but won't replace a few things when they wear out. Love your channel . Katrina ( account in husband's name ) . He has my iPad and doesn't like the tablet 🤣

I was decluttering my wardrobe and literally debating on a white tee shirt while watching this video. I NEVER reach for it but it does fit well and I feel like I’m “supposed” to have one. It’s a wardrobe essential for many but it doesn’t have to be for me. This video helped me let it go!

What you said about being sure tops can fit under sweaters is spot on. Since I've done this, I've de-cluttered all the odd tops that only fit with certain sweaters or none at all. I also don't buy any oversized tops that can't be paired with my sweaters or jacket. Thank you.

Hi love!!! I love your channel, for many years I had a blazer cause I thought It was a basic...I hate how they look on me, I forced myself to wear it because it was chic and cool, but thanks 🙏🙏🙏 One day I realized that I am not a blazer woman, I thought I probably will miss it but not, so happy. It sounds silly but how many stuff do we own thinking we should but they are not US. Love to learn myself, my style and not get influenced by anyone. Take care all of you ❤️❤️❤️
@ecofriendlia3 жыл бұрын
Oh, thank you for your sweet comment! That is so true and luckily we are more and more allowed to wear just whatever we want (allowed in the sense that "society" doesn't have strict rules...) But also, we should even wear things if it is against the "rules" if it makes us happy (and isn't breaking the law or something...)☺

I have one tip for starting minimalist wardrobe, that works nice when you hang your clothes on hangers. After you wash something and you hang it in your wardrobe again, hang it on the right side. Then after a short time things that you don't wear will be on the left side and you will get to know what you don't need soon
@anjanarao35273 жыл бұрын
Yes, I minimalised my wardrobe but as you said am keeping two expensive pieces which I bought for an event thinking that I may need someday since I paid high for those 2 pieces. I need to follow as you said by keeping those in storage boxes and check whether I need it certainly. 🤗 I do hand wash 👍

This was a great vlog Lia. Appreciated these tips very much. For winter I find 3 pairs of dark blue jeans, 5 pullovers, ankle boots and trainers plus belt sufficient for a Swiss Winter. Have 2 jackets, scarf and cap. Summer is just as simple. Also my clothes must not need ironing. Do not need to wear anything under my pullovers, except soft bralette. Do not feel the cold like some do. White T shirts are too sensitive and show every little fleck or mark. So none for me.

So I made an impulse buy and I was being so hard on myself, but then I found out we are all wearing pink next week at my work for a good cause and now I’m like yaaa that’s the only pink thing I own so maybe it wasn’t such a bad purchase after all
@luisabarbanti29353 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video! I grew up with the idea that there are some items one must own. It's so relieving to know that we don't have to own a certain garment if we don't feel like it! I love wearing skirts/dresses in the summer but cannot stand them in winter, so I have no winter dresses/skirts. On the other hand, this extends to so much more in life. I've been growing my hair for the last year and it became such a burden lately... I hate having to take care of it. So I guess this weekend I'm going to cut it short (I was even considering a buzz cut!) :D

Shopping for new clothes is not a problem for me, but getting rid of some old ones (that I *never* use) is a real challenge. I would say that the clothes I really wear and are in my wardrobe are very minimalist (around 20/25 pieces I think), but I kept a biiiig amount of clothes in this "get rid of it" box. Slowly, slowly, I get rid of those, but only like, 5 pieces a year or something, so it takes time. It really is a journey.
@TheYoungMinimalist3 жыл бұрын
Nice tips! Thankfully I’m currently the most satisfied with my wardrobe that I’ve ever been and that’s because of the small amount of pieces! And you were one of the people who motivated me to reduce it back then🥰

I have adored minamalism since 2019. I haven't completely embraced it wholeheartedly though, but I am slowly welcoming it in my life. I have done thousands of times decluttering my stuff. I have done so because I noticed that lots of my stuff are just staying in my closet without getting worn. I am on the process of creating ky capsule wardrobe, but I do not know yet how many clothes will I leave for my capsule wardrobe. As of now I have less than 100 clothes excluding my PJs and foot wears. I am still planning to trim down my clothes to 40-50 items only because there are still a fee clothes which i seldom wear. I keep those for special occasions that's why. Hoping to creating a simple, functional and comfortable capsule wardrobe very soon.

I love your channel. The way you approach achieving a minimalist wardrobe/lifestyle is so doable. I live in the United States in one of the colder, northern states but am now in sunny Florida. I packed differently this year with every clothing item working with each other. I also don’t need anything so I am not compelled to go shopping. So much more time to just be and enjoy! Thank you.

Hi Lia. I have 46 items including shoes, sandals and all clothing, also including winter caps and gloves. I count every piece because I have to care for each piece, have a place for it. I have 12 pieces of winter specific clothing and 5 pair of shoes. I can't mix every piece with every other but almost as I have two older shirts that are still too good to get rid of even though I hardly ever wear them. I think of my grandparents and realize up to the 1960's most people normally had a small number of clothes.
@ecofriendlia3 жыл бұрын
That sounds great! Yes, I think so too, for the longest time it was normal to have a wardrobe that we now call "minimalist" only recently that changed, and I guess in many places of the planet people still have smaller wardrobes :) And I think this is such a good point you mention, but do you also count underwear? Because that is the thing most people count as one item or not at all as far as I know :)
@Robert-qm1ld3 жыл бұрын
@@ecofriendlia yes, i count every piece including underwear. I don't understand why many don't count that or socks. They have to be manufactured by someone and need to be washed, dried and stored. I also count napkins, kitchen towels and oven mitts when I count my kitchen. I try to have less than these numbers: 50 clothing items, 50 kitchen items and 20 bathroom/personal care items. But I don't count chargers separate because a phone, for example, without a charger is unusable, to me that is one item. I have tools in excess of what I need but will wait until we can do yard sales to sort them out. That is my largest group of items by far, almost half of my total.

Love this video. I’m finding it hard to declutter because I’ve got loads of clothes that I love but I had a baby 15 months ago and I don’t fit them anymore 💔 I’m also breastfeeding and looking after a 3 yr old too so get paint/food/mud on my clothes almost every day. I guess I’m hoping that one day I will fit in them or have a less messy lifestyle as the children grow up... how old is your son? Did you find that you were washing clothes all the time when he was little? x
@ecofriendlia3 жыл бұрын
Oh, I understand, then decluttering us harder because you really don't know what is going to fit in the future... My son is seven, and I don't know... I remember him drooling all over me and of course, spit up here and there... So I guess I had to wash my clothes more often but maybe with only one the difference is not that significant ☺ I wish you luck with your clothes! Hope they fit again soon or you find different ones you like just as much ☺

Hi Lia. 😊 I found your channel a few weeks ago and I've been really enjoying your content. I'm trying to become more minimal myself. Do you have any tips on how to declutter baby clothes? I have a two year old son and find really hard decluttering his newborn clothes (even the ones I don't really love and want to keep for a future baby). Hope you and your family are safe during this crazy time. Lots of love from Portugal.
@ecofriendlia3 жыл бұрын
I am glad you like my channel! I think it gets easier every time you declutter so it doesn't matter if you can't get rid of the amount you want the first time. Also, we used to give baby clothes to friends with newborns, and like that it was easier since we knew somebody would use and like them. And of course, keep your favorite items for future baby's or sentimental items for you and your son ☺ maybe somebody else has good ideas as well ☺
