How to create Checklist in Word with clickable checkbox [2021]

Creating a checklist in Word is easy. But, do you know a trick by which you can make the clickable check box in Word. Yes, this video shows how to do you add a fillable checkbox in Word in simple steps.
Steps to insert clickable checkbox:
1: Place the cursor where you want to insert clickable checkbox
2: In the developer tab, click on the Checkbox Icon (Check Box Content Control).
Note: If you don't have developer tab active, then navigate to File → Options → Customize Ribbons. Make sure that "Main Tab" is selected in Customize the Ribbon section and check the box against Developer and click Ok to close the pop-up.

In mac word the check box is inserted but on clicking the check box it does not get checked!

Great video What if a doc already has the old checkboxes there and you wanna replace them all with the developer checkboxes? I'm trying to find a way to check checkboxes fast, but rn i have to double click on a checkbox then click checked in order to check it. Any thoughts?
