I just popped into Canva and checked and it looks like you don't need to hit a button anymore! Just hit the "enter" key on your keyboard after you type in your link! To double check that it worked, you can click the link button again and it should show you that your link is there!

You won't be able to use a PDF as your image in a FB ad BUT FB will give you a place to add your link when you create your ad! So just download your design as a PNG and put your link in the ad when you set it up, and when folks see your ad in their feed and click your image, it will take them to your link!

That's probably too advanced for Canva... Right now they really just have the feature to add the link. I don't think you can add any other fancy actions!

Somehow links to youtube do not work via this method. Im working on a Band EPK and want to link to our Video releases but the actual link stays inactive after saving as pdf. So disappointing they don't work in a jpg or png, I wish Canva would fix that bc we use Mailchimp and Mailchimp won't upload pdfs just as they are as a design, it has to be a file link, which is not that attractive and defeats the purpose of creating something nice in Canva....Thank you for the explanation.

Yeah :/ When you see a fb photo that you can click and it takes you to a link, it usually means that photo is embedded on that website and when the link is shared, the photo pops up! (or it's an ad)
