Discovered Adobe Dimension. Powerful little tool. I still love Blender, but this is super accessible, and I'm finding I can get my ideas out quicker.

Thank you, now i’m fascinated by this simple 3D Program. Great work with lots of unnecessary but lovely details like the heart in the intro.

That looked like fun. Am going to have to give Dimensions a play. Sure it's pretty straight forward, but you neglected to show how to the heart graphic was created.

Thanks for the video. Is it possible to make the curves look like one solid piece instead of segments? I know you can line things up really close however you still see a line where the textures meet. Thanks!

Hi Dansky, loving your videos - they've really helped me. But I'm an absolute beginner. So on this video, how would you blend/join all the sections of pipe so there's no visible join and they effectively become one object? Cheers.
@ForeverDansky3 жыл бұрын
Hey Stanley, you can try giving them a solid material (ie. not transparent or translucent) and move the objects so that they intersect, it’s a bit of a hack and not perfect, but can actually mask joins pretty seamlessly in a lot of instances 😊

Thanks for this video. I’ve been using Dimensions and found it really useful. It’s a shame Adobe are discontinuing it because I already pay for Creative Cloud and won’t pay for their 3D software, I’ll learn Blender or similar.

Oh, that's a shame.

Better download before it's discontinued.

Again?? It was a product in the 90s originally, then discontinued...they brought it back just to discontinue again...great

Unfortunately, Adobe discontinued Dimension for M1 chips. :( I had to make the switch to Blender. I've also found that Spline is a good option for someone wanting to do something simple, but it's freemium.

Oh no, that's unfortunate! I'll have to check out Spline 👍

Is there any way to combine 3d objects in one object so there is no gap between them in adobe dimension?
@ForeverDansky3 жыл бұрын
You can intersect objects with solid materials and sometimes it will work, other times it will not. It’s technically not actually combining the shapes together, but with certain materials the ‘seams’ will not be visible 👍

Would you mind explaining more about what you mean when you change the field of view to zero to remove any perspective/an orthographic view? I'm not sure I understand what it is or the advantages of it/when it would be appropriate to do/vs make the opposite choice.

why does it get all fuzzy when you render, is there a way to keep it nice and shinny after rendering the object?
@ForeverDansky2 жыл бұрын
Fuzzy? Is that around the edges? I always render at 4K instead of 1920x1080 for example, as the bigger the canvas size, the more detail that is rendered, and you get a much crisper end result.

What about the seems? Can it be fused to a solid?
@ForeverDansky3 жыл бұрын
Hey Billy, solid materials can be intersected and oftentimes they can look ok, but technically they’re not “fused” into a single shape and any textures won’t wrap across multiple shapes. It’s worth mentioning that the slight gaps between shapes in this particular design are intentional 😊
@sandiflow2 ай бұрын
@@ForeverDansky Two years have passed, and I'm still waiting for a way to merge two objects into one in Adobe Dimension. Having a feature similar to Adobe Illustrator's Pathfinder, where you can unite shapes or use Minus Front to create hollow areas, would be very efficient. With Adobe now having a separate 3D suite, perhaps we won't see this functionality in Dimension.

Hi Dansky, Would I be able to create a 3D shape and then add lines on that shape at certain increments to create different sizes of that shape? If possible could I then extract to create a separate shape? If not with this program is there another Adobe program that could do this? I hope that all makes sense! Many thanks Sarah
