Great Video, love it! You can use a hairdryer as well to shrink the tubes. And when you melt the ends of the paracord, use the blue part of the flame. This way you can avoid blackening the paracord and it will keep the same colour.

Thanks, Marc. A hairdryer would work as long as it is hot enough. A lighter would work to shrink it, but there is the possibility that it doesn't shrink evenly. So for the best looking and risk free (in terms of accidental discoloration) method a heat gun is probably the best bet. Or a good hairdryer 😉 thanks for the comment

Love the content Bo! Heat shrink pulls are definitely my favorite, but I might have to try that diamond knot! Or maybe combine the two!
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Evan.THe Diamond Knot is quite fiddly, especially getting the right length perfect, so combining it with the heatshrink is a great idea, but a difficult task. If you can pull it of, please do make a picture. Would love to see how it looks like.

You may want to get a good set of wire cutters, it's easy to slip with a knife like that and slice something off (see it all the time at work in the emergency room)

If you remove the inner strands from the paracord you can slide the heat shrink tubing over that, then easily tie a knot at the end. Such as how its done on the GoRuck zippers! ; )

That's an awesome tip. Thanks 😉 ✌️

I'm considering doing the same on my Outlier Quadzip, the pulls it comes with are slippery.

What diameter heat shrink tubing do you use for the paracord?

Hey Bo! I recently subscribed to your channel and I just ordered my Dayfarer after watching your videos; I'm really excited to possibly try installing new zipper pulls on it when it arrives, but I was wondering if it would be able to store about 3-4 binders in addition to a laptop and maybe a small pencil case for school. Thanks!
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Hey Kurtis. Thank you very much for subscribing. What kind of binders? How big and thick are they? As far as I can remember, the binders in the US are different than the binders in Germany. Have you watched my "what bagsize do I need" video? The Dayfarer is in that video as well
@kurtislew24496 жыл бұрын
I usually carry 3 ring, 1 inch thick binders. Also I have watched the "What bagsize do I need" video but I just wanted to make sure I could fit enough stuff for sure.
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
I see. I would assume that you can fit everything inside. But unfortunately I don't have binders in that size available to test it out. Have you tried to contact farerdesign directly? Maybe they have a way to test it out

Really interessting ! It match with your usual type of video so I was a bit surprise it is a sponsored video ! Do you plan to make other like this ?
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
The sponsor does not determine the content. That's the good thing about it. That's why the video is all my style and I just add the sponsor somewhere in the video. And since I don't want to annoy my viewers with ads, I put them at the end. And yes, I plan more tutorials in the future. If you have any specific requests, just let me know 😉

@@Youknowthebo okay now it's all clear, keeping your style even with a sponsor is the key..! Ans I will had a comment as soon as I have an idea for next tutorial !☺️

Hi, I am a problem that only you can help me. Or need a backpack where I put pants, sweater shirts, two binders, notebooks, cases, headphones, charging cables, and an MEC. Which backpack do you recommend? I ask you why I think you are the greatest expert in backpacks
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicola! That's quite a lot of stuff. Depending on the size of the bag you want to carry, maybe take a look at either a bag from AER or the Attitude Supply ATD1. The ATD1 is expandable, which might be good for all the amount of stuff you want to carry.

Will definitely not change my zipperpulls on my GR1 ;) They are awesome! Got the GR1 before the price increase, because of your video. Danke Bo. LG aus Berlin ps: Kannst du mir sagen wo man Paracord am besten in Deutschland kauft?
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Moin.

Can't I just use the lighter instead of the heat gun?
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. If you use a lighter the tube does not shrink evenly. It will shrink of course, but it won't look good.
@hemanofeternia99546 жыл бұрын
Honestly I use a lighter and it works great for me, per Gorucks recommendation I’ve tried an industrial hair dryer and couldn’t get my goruck pulls to shrink at all, so I would opt for heat gun or bic lighter. But the shrink that Bo was using was much thinner than mine, mine was thick and held its tube shape (goruck zipper pull kit), so I guess keep in mind not all heat shrink is the same.
