Jesse you are the man!! I recently found your page and have been soaking up all this extremely valuable content you're putting out! Keep it up brother! I'm a 28 y/o general contractor in Phoenix, Arizona. I've been in business for 3 years and in the industry for about 5. Its great to watch your videos and see a lot of what I've implemented in my business, and great tips on things I could improve. Would love any opportunity to connect and just talk shop, my experience is mainly residential and I'm starting to transition in to commercial. I'm growing quick but I'm facing difficulty scaling and automating my business so that I'm not working myself to the bone. Anyways, thanks again for the great content. Keep it coming and I wish you more success! - Maxwell

Hi Jesse. Great content thank you!!! Please post everyday!! even vlogs will do!!! Question: From day 1 you meet a client and you consider sending in a bid, how many days does it take you to get the proposal submitted? You obviously would need bids from subs for different divisions. How long does that normally take you to get bids and consolidate it? What's the typical waiting period for the client after the initial meeting?
@Jesse_Lane4 жыл бұрын
14 days typically I wish I could do daily vlogs! That would be so much fun! It just takes so much energy and effort and thought behind my videos.
@itsPYUNGKANG4 жыл бұрын
@@Jesse_Lane Thank you for your response. This helps me a lot in the future to set the right expectations in waiting period. And don't be stressed about the content of the video. The whole point of the vlog is being unscripted and showing how you're surviving during quarantine. We are interested not only in your GC business, but also YOU as an individual =) Thanks and stay safe!

Hi Jesse, just wondering why you use the spreadsheets to create your estimates, etc rather than Buildertrend?

Hi Jesse, thank you for your videos. Very helpful! I am considering to use a professional proposal template. I do residential remodeling and renovation works mostly and wonder if your template (and Estimate) will be suitable for Residential works?
@Jesse_Lane4 жыл бұрын
Yes! It can definitely be modified for residential.

In your scope of work you state that you are “providing and installing”. Isn’t the industry standard meaning for provide “furnish and install”, so should you stating furnish and install instead on the contract?

This is cool and I know potential customers/Pms are another generation. I just do not want to learn all this. I wonder if there are any people that I can pay to do this/?

How would I do this in Florida? I am licensed as a Home Improvement Contractor in NYC only, not for the whole state. I will also be seeking the NY Westchester and NJ (all of NJ) Home Improvement Contractor license. An all-state Florida Certified General Contractor has requirements that I cannot get fulfill. I am looking to the future in about 1-3 years to open an office in Florida. Why? I want to live and work in NYC and in Florida. I am close to finishing my bachelor's degree in construction management. I am in my senior year but I put it on hold since I opened my company in NYC. So what do you think? Is there such a thing as an RMO/RME option in FL? Thanks!

I noticed on your proposal you show your profit to the customer. Is possible to take that out? And also why do you show your customer how much your making?
@joerodriguez39033 жыл бұрын
He’s mentioned in another video that we as GC’s are entitled to a fair profit so a an owner shouldn’t question it but I assume that if you’re worried about showing profit then you can easily just distribute your overhead and profit between your different divisions.

Doing a proposal is outright work... do you get paid to do a proposal? If so, how? Say you need to start from developing a plan, you need to pay your architect..

Im also talking about the planning and design phase...
