Love the way the gimp looks. We just did one with ladder tape and it made it easy to count out the spacing. Always helpful! Thanks Susan

Thanks a lot for sharing these tips, I did exactly as you described and used a pleat craft tape on the back side. Now my grommets are at equal distance from each other. I had always used french pleat curtains before but during my house renovation I thought of trying grommet curtains for a change. Got them for one room, kinda liked them but hated them for how they open, so for the other rooms I thought of going back to french pleats until I ran into this video and now I'm loving them! For all other rooms I'll be having grommets for sure. :-)

I want to do this to prevent the grommets locking up as I close the drapes

What a great tip! It's always frustrated me trying to get the draperies to look even when they're open - or else I have to go straighten them every time my husband opens them. I'll definitely be doing this from now.

I Did Exactly As You Said...And It Came Out Perfect! I've Been Searching For Weeks On How To Keep The Curtains Pleaded. (I have photos...however, there is no way to upload them on this website platform.) I add a little extra bling to curtains, too! Thanks For Sharing Your Knowledge And Video! What to do when the ends of hem of the grommet curtains curl upward or do not fall nicely facing the floor?

Why not just use toilet paper rolls in between the grommets? Gives a more tailored , pleated look, & no sewing!

This method is to keep the pleats evenly spaced when closing the curtains. Toilet paper rolls only space the pleats when opening the curtains. Foam pipe cladding is more durable than toilet rolls too. Mine work great.

I have used the toilet rolls, they work great IF you put them on the rod while loading the drapes...don't cut them like I did and slide them over the rod after the fact, because all they do is fall out.

you are right! this is the best method for keeping evenly spaced pleats when the drapes are closed - and . . . it allows for the most window space when the drapes are pushed back (open) - I love the things I learn on KZbin @@JANJOHNSON59
