Thanks man! I wanted to pay for a someone to draw me one as I loved them, but I didn't have any money :'D And I saw your tutorial, and said why not give it a try, even though I didn't really think I can do it, but surprisingly it worked for me :D It's my second time with illustrator, and first time with a real face, first time to draw an eye :'D If I had money, I'd have donated you some, but unfortunately with this quarantine, am broke, and didn't pay my rent or bills :(: Anyway, thanks is all I have now :'D, so thanks once more :D

@@lindaschauble1820 hey Linda, I used Adobe illustrator. I'm now on a trial version of another software that works in the same way, it's called Affinity designer. They offer a 90 days trial, and until the 20th of June they have an offer of 50% off. What I really like about it, is that it's a one time purchase, unlike Adobe products that you have to pay a monthly subscription. So at the moment it's €27.99, I hope I would be able to make it before it ends 😅. I think you can do everything that could be done with Illustrator, except there is one tool missing, but you can still do it with another way. Hope you find this useful. Ah, was about to forget, here is the link for the software's website: affinity.serif.com/en-us/ another tip, they have a software equivalent to Photoshop as well, it's called Affinity Photo. How are you curving the straight pen tool like that?

When you right click on the pen tool you'll see curvature pen tool. Use that for curving. I use that in Photoshop, don't know for sure if it's in Illustrator.

Hi Ariev, Thanks so much for this tutorial, I have a question, how would I save this type of illustration to a svg file so that I would be able to cut each layer out of paper? I have been wanted to create a cut layer portrait without having to cut with scissors, I would use my cricut. Thanks so much.

Hi, maybe late in answering this but it should be pretty easy. I believe if you go through your final illustration and name/organize everything into their own respective layers (hair, face, eyes etc.) You should then be able to export SVG or other file type that supports layers like normal and have the components appear as their own shapes.
