Planning to do this for my backyurd.... But a key tip if you're doing a bed like this up against a wood structure to leave some gap/space to avoid rot on wood siding,.... learned a lesson on this from a previous owner of my home mistake, they mulched the beds up to the wood siding causing too much wet debris against the bottom siding boards.

PAUL WHY DONT YOU PROMOTE THIS CHANNEL???!?! i never knew these videos existed & they're gold.
@santahampton2 жыл бұрын
My I recommend a few square, 12x12 pavers be added at the faucet & garden hose area bc with the rain spout so close that area may get wet & soggy. Pavers even along that whole utility area will help keep those feet & toes clean of debris when accessing the faucet, garden hose & meters.

I used a tall kitchen garbage bag worth of free statbucks coffee grounds on my last garden bed. So good for the plants!

I love how you make gardening look approachable on the cheap. Great ideas that work.... regarding people throwing out mulch.... be care with that, most of the time when gardeners do that its because they are getting rid of pests and disease or chemical pollutant. Best the ask the previous owner the reason they are throwing away their mulch. But you've given me an idea of how to smother the circle of lily of the valley that's taking over my valley AND deal with a forezt worth of fall leaves I will be expecting to drop in my yard this fall AND get rid of all my amazon boxes!!! You guys rock!!

You want to keep dirt below the foundation on a house in Texas, especially out of the weep holes so you dont feed bugs into your house.

Good shit brodie. A tad concerned about that roof runoff gutter system tho…. That retaining wall that y’all have created could potentially hold standing water against the structure of the house. Y’all know….This is Houston

We done this and regretted it. If going to plant flowers forget it. The cardboard will mold.
@paulplantu Жыл бұрын
Yeah the cardboard breaks down overtime. That’s the point, it lasts long enough to kill the grass then you can plant into it
