Very cool. At first i was hung up conceptually at 2:55 and 7:22 with the question of knowing how far to pull the points. But now i get it. You just need to pull them at least as far as the other geometry so that there aren't any collisions. Pulling farther simply keeps scaling the shape up. Just sharing in case anyone else is conused. :D Great video, thanks!
