Thank you for this informative video. What happens to the saline water which should be ejected from the desalter? From your flowsheet, it seems that the saline water is sent with the wet warm crude to the heater and onwards to the distillation column.

I used aspen v8.8 and did everything step by step according to the video, yet for some reason message board keeps saying that sulfur-1,2,3 were not defined for mix oil and that there was an error calculating hypothetical component NBP[0]1021. Could you hint me what might be the problem?

When calculating assay, in message board it says "All assay values equal to or greater than 90,00 result in calculated TBP temperatures exceeding maximum of 1100°C [2012°F]. Resulting critical and physical properties could be erroneuos. Please check your assay data. Assay is still calculated. Should this message just be ignored sir?
