Thank you for this video very usefull for a project I'm working on. In the new Kangaroo some commands are different (Springs=Length(Line), Planarization=CoPlanar) and due to the large scale of my project I had to change the Equality function into a Smaller Than (10 in my case). I have to note that the output has given me a deformed central strip of Hexagonal shapes but the curves result all Planar.

Hi, why does my flatten component show a T instead of D ? and my brep shows dbrep instead of explode like yours. Yet i guess they're still the same

Hi .. thanx for this. I wanted to ask why u r using control points of hexagons instead of the vertices that u can take directly from the explode components.

fantastic work!!! may I ask how to use kangaroo's component to make the same size of honeycomb?

Hi. I use Hexagon Cells on a free shaped surface. Why is the hexagon cells projected shape always a rectanngle for me? The contour of my shape is not the contour of the heagon celled area. Help me please!

I started Kangaroo with the vers 2, so I am quite lost with the new functions names. Your tutorials are really helpful and I kind of achieved the thing with the vers 2, but it would be awesome if you can sumup in a vid the principal functions of the vers 2 compared to the vers 1, there is so few documentation on the internet for kangaroo2...

just get version 1 as well

I had to look for other team names, since they do not coincide (this is a complaint rather to the developers, they do not preserve heredity) The simulation is underway. But the mesh begins to fold, crumple, and the shape no longer corresponds to the original one.

can we apply same concept for rectangles? I want to have brick pattern and to be planner too

Hi i cannot open the physics kangaroo component... i have the mos recent version (0.99), i have read that i need to have oldest version, wich one? And in case i have to download an oldest version do i have to delete the newest and download it later?

Great! thank you so much. I needed this solution for plywood panels positioning. I have to find a way to apply the method for any mesh surface too. Cheers

Hey nice video, i think i got right all the steps, yet when i change the boolean toggle to "false" there is no planarizing process and the grid and surfaces just disapear and nothing happens :/

Hi, thanks for the great video. I'm pretty sure I followed all the steps, but when I run my simulation the honeycomb movement starts off slow, but quickly begins to jump and vibrate around in an uncontrolled manner resulting in an uncontrolled oversized mess. The curvepull force is working but it seems like the rest length isn't, any idea how to fix this?

kel t i changed all the force parameters from 0 to 1000, and changed the curvature of the surface. the problems are much less.

Thank you for this tutorial! I have a question regarding the last steps of the video. I cannot connect all three components (springs, planarize and curvePull) with kangoroo, the lines will just remove one another. Where could be the mistake I made? I did the tutorial twice but both times there was the same thing happening. There is a note "input parameter failed to collect data". Hope somebody has an answer(;

in order to connect multiple components you need to press shift while adding connections.

Thanks! My problem is that only one of my points is actually on the curve, so that seems to make the curvepull force minimal, and gives me a really wild, seemingly unbounded simulation. Any of you guys have thoughts on that?

+Forrest Murray It's all about tolerances use the 'smaller than' node with the output 'smaller than or equal to' and make the input number 0.0001
@victoriadesponds56588 жыл бұрын
Heyy Devin du Plessis, I have the same problem with this wild lines in the simulation, how do you connect the smaller than or equal to component to the rest and where can you type in the number 0.0001? Would be great if you could help me, I'm quite new on grasshopper. (: Thank you!

+Devin du Plessis I found that if the ratio of the hexagonal cells is close to regular (that is setting the sliders of the Hex Cell command so as to ge not-so-long cells) it works better.
