Biggest reason for an atlas is that instead of having to load 10 image files again and again, you now just load one image and tell Cocos where to show. For this example, its not a big issue, but when you are building games with 100+ sprites on the screen, you'll see a major performance boost.

Can you tell me among these Cocos2dx, Cocos Studio, or Cocos Creator by which engine I can decrypt, encrypt back .csb files after successful modification and open those files? One thing more with luac support also?

During my research I haven’t found any open source, so the best solution is to use the auto atlas
