Not entirely sure I understand your question. You should have one H1 per page and they all should be unique to that page and ideally include the keyword you are targeting

Hi Oscar, the answer is no, otherwise you will end up with pages competing for the same keywords. Use your service pages to target different keywords. Example spinal adjustment Chicago, neck adjustment Chicago and so on depending on the services you provide of course.

Hello! If I have a floral design company that do designs for weddings and events, would it be sound to target ‘austin floral design’ on the home page and have 2 separate service pages for weddings & events? I will find it hard to not overlap in keyword targeting since the only way to describe any floral design service is by including wedding and event keywords. Thank you!

Hi Mickey. Best way to find out is to search for those keywords and find out what kind of results Google returns. If the results are the same for both keywords (i.e. same pages) then Google will consider these to be closely related and therefore you won't need to create different pages.

Hi luc, I want not just to rank for a city but in general on google coz my business is not a service area based business. But still want to rank higher in local searches coz those would be easy to convert for me. Would you suggest building a local business landing page instead of a local business home page ? Will it have similar effect.?

If you have a store front then you should optimize the page your google business listing links to for the city where the store front is located. You can create local business pages for nearby areas and blog articles to target clients further afield.

I do multiple services for my business. I am a local contractor. I do roofing siding windows doors gutters decks and patios. On my homepage should I not include all of those services? I thought that the additional service pages for each specific service is to highlight those individual services. But you're saying I should highlight my main service on the homepage but I don't really have just one main service. If I had to choose the main ones are roofing siding windows and doors, so it's still more than one. So what do I do?????

Which one of your services generates the most revenue? This is the one you need to focus on. Include all other services on the home page so people know what else you provides but keep the description short and add a link to each service where you can expand.

Hello. I have a local roofing company in maryland of the USA. We service the entire state of maryland but our business location is in a city called silver spring. I want to rank on google for this city and other cities in maryland. What is the best strategy when it comes to local businesses like mine for local seo? Meaning, should my main homepage be general for all of maryland or should it be specific to the city of silver spring? I know that I can create other pages or posts for the other cities I want to rank in but I'm just confused if I should make my main homepage specific to the broader area of the state or more specific to the city I'm located in. For example, should I title the homepage "roofing contractor in silver spring" or "roofing contractor in maryland". Please help!!! Thank you sir 🙏

You should try to rank for your local area first and foremost (silver spring) . If you don't, how can you expect to rank for an entire state? Also, proximity to the searcher is really important so you will likely compete with tons of other roofers in maryland meaning it will be nearly impossible for you to rank for an entire state.

Very helpful as always! I have a problem with one of my competitor: he has created 2 different websites for the same business and 2 different GMB listing (using the same business address). One domain and one listing has the same real business name. The second website and the second Google listing have a different name (full of a keywords). Is this legit? Can I report them somehow?

I can't really see the point of creating 2 GMB listings with the same address as a) it will clearly not extend your competitors reach since proximity is the main ranking factor so essentially he is targeting the same area and b) one of those listings is likely to get filtered by Google anyway. As per the two websites this is also a silly idea since building the influence of one site is hard enough, two will require even more time o build up so If i were you I wouldn't worry too much. Obviously I would need more info to make a final judgment but you can still report the GMB abuse at support.google.com/business/contact/business_redressal_form

Great video and quick query Luc. I work with a dermatology client who does both skin and hair care related services. My main category is Dermatologist and my primary keyword is "Dermatologist in Chennai" And secondary keywords are best dermatologist in chennai skin specialist in Chennai best skin clinic in Chennai Do I need to focus only on dermatologist related words or use "skin specialist in Chennai" and "best skin clinic in Chennai" keywords as well. Right now I am using all keywords and there are no much improvements in the ranking.

If it's for your home page focus on your primary keyword (dermatologist in chennai) and created additional content pages for the other keywords you want to rank for

Are you able to help us understand how google chooses what sub pages to show in SERP’s? For example I rank #1 for a URL & keyword. But under my meta description I see 3 hyper links to other pages on my site. These pages are not relevant to the keyword as far as I can see but still google shows them smaller but still shows them non the less.

For a guy who preaches about making sure your site is user-friendly for people that visit it, why, in GOD’s green earth, do you have mid roll ads playing in the middle of your videos?
