Great salad bowls Bill, I am curious to keep the rim that shape how do you trim the base of the bowl afterwards?

It would sit fine upside down since the top is evenly spaced. Be careful when you push your chunks of clay to hold it in place so you don't alter the rim. Trimming would be the same as any other bowl.

Some person said that, and claimed a god said it. We know better. For example, depending on the clay, almost certainly some crucial elements were missing, such as trace amounts of iodine and cobalt. You’d best put that old book away, and learn a little science.
