I am amazed by this! Fantastic! I have always wanted to make my own rug and i have plenty of left over yarn to use up! So simple and easy to make! Thank you soooo much :)

I used up many of the yarn scraps I have and made multi-colored rugs for my kitchen. I love that I can just throw them in the wash when they get dirty and they add a pop of color on my wood floor. I also like that although it is nice and cushy, it doesn't use near as much yarn as many of the other loopy rug patterns I have seen. Thanks for posting.

Also, a good wool yarn isn’t as splitty as cotton yarn so I bet you’d love to try wool yarn. I picked up some wool yarn at a thrift store. I’m not going to use it on this rug you so brilliantly figured out how to make, but probably on an oval rug. But I’m sure going back to that thrift to buy up all the cotton yarn they have to make this rug. Woo, hoo!!

I've got some eyelash and velvet I can hold two together on some rows and get some pretty textures. I was thinking of combining a bunch of different textured black acrylic yarns. I had to watch the working about three times. Tell me if I got it right. The carpet is two layers, the top layer is made of three-chain loops worked into the front loop of the sc, for the next row you turn the work and make another row of sc which is the bottom layer, in the other loop of that same sc row?
@ferbasar5 жыл бұрын
It is crochet in 2 rows. The first row is single crochet and the second row is three-chain loops like you say.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I should mention I'm left-handed. I cannot, for the life of me, see where I'm supposed to go next. I have done the single crotchet row, the slip-stitch, 3-chain row across, turned, and another single crochet row, then another of the slip-stitch, 3-chain row. So I have two rows of the loops with the single chains in there. Now, I can't figure where to crochet next! To me, it's just gonna keep adding the loops in a circle and turn and turn. It's already turning pretty good. I don't think I'm doing this right at all. Ready to rip it out....
@ferbasar4 жыл бұрын
After crocheting so many rows your rug should look like mine in the video. It is crochet only in 2 row repeat after you do 12:33 you do 8:40
@MC-kj8uy4 жыл бұрын
I have tried this in the past so I thought I'd offer another point of view. This pattern is just two rows - a loop row alternating with a plain sc row. The stitches on the loop row are all made in the *back loop* of the row below; the stitches on the sc row are made in the *front loop* of the same row you used for the loop stitches. That will push the loops out of the way and they'll all sit on one side. After the sc row you do another loop row using the back loop of the sc row you just did, and then a sc row using the front loop of that row, and you just keep repeating those two. So basically, each two rows is worked in the same row below it; it's just that one row (the loop one) uses the front loop and the other (the sc one) uses the back loop. If you've ever tried sc ribbing this might make more sense... This will make a nice cushy fabric but it's very dense and works up slowly, which is probably why I've never made anything with it; my patience is limited to small items like hats :) I hope that helps.
