@@rebeccapotts133 I used 4.5mm for the base and 2.5mm or 3mm for the gloves and it seems to work, but it depends on your tension.

First we crochet small fingers. These are 3-4 loops in a spiral. Then the mitten itself - 10 loops, also in a spiral. When the mitten gets the size we need, I connect the finger and the mitten as in the video.

Oh. I understand that the tutorial is not perfect. Thanks for the comment. It's actually very simple. It turns out 4-5 sc in each stitch, I crochet them in a circle.
