how many grams of yarn did you use? i wanna make this!

I honestly have no idea i'm so sorry T_T I was using old yarn that had already been opened so I'm not sure what its weight was. I DO know that it wasn't that much yarn though, I'd say a quarter of a ball of standard yarn. I hope that helps!!

How many chains did you make? I'm making this for a maltse, which i don't have available for measuring.

I think it was around 54 chains but this will change depending on the size hook and yarn you choose! hopefully that helps though :))

how did you connect the panel between the leg holes with the rest of the sweater?

I’m not super sure I understand your question, do you mean how do you end the row so that the crochet doesn’t unravel? If that’s what it is, on your very last stitch do an extra slip stitch, cut the yarn, and pull through which will make a knot! Hopefully that explains your question?

do you chain 1 at every round for the first portion?

I personally do but I know some people don’t do that when they work in the round! I think it’s whatever you’re more used to when you’re working in the round, hopefully that makes sense!
