I’m very new to crochet. I seen and fell in love with this stitch. The instructor is so easy to follow that I was able to do this stitch for the very first time and make this hat. Turned out beautiful! 😊

Ive had this video saved in my favorites and more than a year ago I tried to do this pattern and I just could not get it. Certainly had nothing to do with your instruction, I just couldn’t get it right no matter how I tried. I came back to this video 3 days ago and today I was able to complete my hat and it’s beautiful. Persistence is key. Thank you.

Thank you for being such a good teacher! I have only ever crocheted one thing before. Your teaching is so helpful specifically the time you take to show and talk about how I find the place in the completed row to work the new row. I only wish I could post a picture of my super awesome hat for you! I made the large adult size and added a pom pom. I used red heart stripes yarn and I can hardly believe I made this cool hat myself! it's a gift for a friend and I know she will love it too!

Fun project. Straight-forward and easy to follow for a mostly-newbie to crochet. The hat fits good with a little bit of slouch (my head usually fits a small adult). I used a basic craft yarn (a really old skein of Red Heart) and I had no trouble whipping it out in a few chill hours. Thanks for the video!

This one fits more like a beanie. You can make it a slouch style hat though by adding more rounds of puff stitches at the bottom!
@teresalowe26910 жыл бұрын
B.hooked Crochet thanks so when we are done with the increasing rounds, I can just add a few more rounds?

Yep, I believe the pattern calls for a total of 15 rounds (including the increasing) of puff stitches. You could just go to 17 and then start the band.

Hello, there and thanks for your wonderful work. I read many things in your web page, and understood everything about measurements and sizes etc for hats. What I don't understand is, if I know the width and length of a hat that I want to crochet, how do I know how many stitches to put in the magic ring? Is it the same? And one last thing: if you don't have 5.5 mm hook but have 5.00 mm and 6.00 mm and I am not crocheting loosely nor tightly which hook would you recommend besides going out and buying now? Thanks again.
@bhookedcrochet4 жыл бұрын
I use the same rule of thumb for the number of stitches in a magic ring, and it's dependent on the stitch I use in the project. For projects with single crochet stitches, I always start with 6. For half double crochet stitches, I start with 8 and for double crochet stitches I start with 10. Have you checked out this guide? It's a good read if you haven't seen it already! www.bhookedcrochet.com/2017/01/10/how-to-crochet-circles/
