If you came to the comments to see if this was really beginner friendly, yes it is. I highly recommend this tutorial! It is really easy.

this was my first project ever, it turned out great! i used 9 mm velvet yarn to give it a chunkier look and so i didn't have to do as many stitches lol I will definitely be making more in different sizes and as Christmas gifts this year!

Ok so… if I want to make this fit thicker books after the first chain, would I add another row to that before moving onto the rounds?

Hi made this and I really love it!! Amazing tutorial. I do have one question: if I wanted to do this for a thicker book, do I just make the beginning strand a couple stitches longer than the length of my book?

Hello, how many yarn does this need?

I've been trying to make one but it always curls at the bottom😭I don't know if I'm making it to tight or if I'm adding another stitch or something😭😭

@heidischiemann9913 if it’s curling, your tension is likely too tight! For your first chain, try sizing up a hook so it’s looser

Hii!!🥰 I bought the yarn at a craft store called “Pipoos”. However I’m not sure whether this store exists outside of the Netherlands as well😬

hello, I keep running into the same problem and i don't know what I'm doing wrong. After the round where i am building up, everytime I do a slip stich to start the next round it keeps moving over. I started at the edge and by the end I'm somewhere in the middle. Why does this happen? If you could help me out that would be great! Thank you

same happened to me, you should try to do the slip stich on the previous slip stich, I dont know if it works but i will try it out

Hii! So sorry for the late reply, I missed this comment:(❤️ it sounds like your somehow skipping stitch(es) each round, which will make your project increasingly smaller😬 make sure you count how many chains you make in the beginning (let’s say this is x), you should be making x * 2 - 2 stitches each round after this!🫶🏼 hope this helps💗

I think you can make it according to the biggest book you have so that it would fit the smaller books too
