Hi, thank you for the tutorial! this looks really pretty! If I want to have 2 more rows for this coaster, should I make 1 double croche in the first stitch and 3 double croche in the second croche in the next row?

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! Here's what to do to add more rounds: Round 4: [1 dc blo in first 2 st/s, 2 dc blo in the third st] repeat that around (48) Round 5: [1 dc blo in first 3 st/s, 2 dc blo in the fourth st] repeat that around (60) Round 6: zig zag border as shown in the video I also have this pattern published as the zig zag trivet which is a larger size of the coaster! You can shop the pattern here: dogwoodcrochetus.etsy.com/listing/1524505353/crochet-pattern-zig-zag-trivet-crochet I hope this helps!

Super quick and easy, but I’m more worried about cold drinks on it then hot so only made one to test. Seems like the yarn would get wet from sweat of the glass and hold the liquid on the table instead of protecting the table. Also thinking it would stick to the glass when picked up. Hoping to be wrong but making a test one first. Thanks for a quick easy pattern to test this out on. 🙂

It could have to do with your tension or hook size. If you are using the same number of stitches as me, I would try crocheting looser or going up a hook size or two so that your project can stretch out a little bit more. Hope this helps!

I used Indigo and Ecru for the other colors! Unfortunately, I don't have a pattern for a basket/coaster holder, but you could work the coaster then work a few rounds where you keep the same stitch count (don't increase or decrease) to give you some height to the basket. Hope this helps!

I love this tutorial! So we’ll explained. As an absolute beginner, thank you 🙏🏻 I also love how you do your magic circle. I’ve not seen it like that before, and keeping my finger in the whole time made it the neatest circle I’ve done to date. But… I can’t get it to fully work. I have a huge loop from the circle hanging out at the bottom. And I pull and it goes nowhere. What am I missing?
@Dogwood.Crochet
@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear that you like the pattern and tutorial. For the magic circle, you will want to pull on the tail a little bit until one of the loops starts tightening. Once you find the one that starts tightening, pull on that loop to close the circle. Then you should be able to pull on your tail and the other loop will close. I hope this makes sense! Thanks
@kathrynhall2019

Thank you, it worked! Also my yarn must be thinner than yours as it was still so small after three rounds so I added a fourth round and then did the zig zag border. I love it! It looks so pretty! Hi, I really love your design! Thank you sooo much for the great tutorial ❤ As I have used a different yarn, my coasters are a bit too small and I would like to add a round 4 and then the zigzag boarder. How many stiches would I need for round 4? Thank you :)
@Dogwood.Crochet
@Dogwood.Crochet Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you like the pattern. If you want to add a fourth round, you should have 48 stitches at the end of round 4 and then you would work the zig zag border.

Sis mine always turn into a bucket but why?
@Dogwood.Crochet

It could have to do with your tension. You could try to crochet looser and/or use a larger size hook! You can also try stretching out the stitches a bit once you make them

uhh why in the second round my saucer looks like a pot??

It could be your tension. If your stitch count is the same as mine, try loosening your tension a bit or you could also try stretching it out a bit after you make it. Hope this helps!

This coaster pattern is cute, I especially like the border, but the coaster is awfully small. 😢

Thank you so much! You can make it larger by adding more rounds. Here's what to do to add more rounds: Round 4: [1 dc blo in first 2 st/s, 2 dc blo in the third st] repeat that around (48) Round 5: [1 dc blo in first 3 st/s, 2 dc blo in the fourth st] repeat that around (60) Round 6: zig zag border as shown in the video

Your doing a treble stitch at the beginning not double crotchet

This tutorial is in US terms so I use a US double. But if you're used to UK terms, then yes, that's a UK treble!
