Finally! A pocket shawl that you cast on by length rather than width!!! Makes it much more easily adjustable for those of us that aren't 5'4".... Looks sharp too. Love the added buttons~ Now if only this had come out BEFORE i bought a different pattern....

I can't find my original comment to update it, so I will just comment again. This is a genius pattern! Who would've thought to make pockets out of the body of the shawl? I love it! And I'm a big guy so I made mine wider. I also dropped half a hook size to a 6mm. Stitches look amazing! And I have to say, variegated yarn works AMAZINGLY with this pattern. Donna, you did it! You get a trophy for this pattern because it is amazing!! 🏆 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I crocheted this beautiful pocket shawl recently and am delighted with the results. I used a similar colour to the pattern with 2 strands of 100% cotton to give it a soft but textured feel and look. The only differences I made were to make the edging 2 rows narrower for my slight frame and that I did a row of single crochet below the pockets to keep a better shape. Thank you very much Donna for this fabulous addition to my autumn/winter/spring wardrobe, it’s greatly admired and on several family members Christmas Wishlist!

I was almost jumping for joy when I saw you demonstrating how your pocket shawl goes together! No positioning or sewing on of the pockets! Absolutely brilliant. I’ve made a couple of these now using other patterns and I’ve not been happy with the pockets in any of them, they never look quite right. Your design will open up a whole new concept and I’m especially happy that the width can be varied depending on how much border you want to add. I made this for a friend, beautiful. I made your Mobius Shawl also, which was a huge hit! I did something a little different for the Pocket Shawl ... I added 3 buttons down the front, matching the pockets. My friend wanted it closed in front at times, so it would stay put when she was doing laundry or just out & about. Now her friends want one ... I need more hands! I love ALL your patterns and your tutorials are the Best!! 🏆👏🙋

Michelle Morgan I wondered exactly the same, it now totals 19, very weird. I have searched through loads and loads of shawl patterns with pockets and eventually saw one I liked, then I saw this one and I liked it even better. Checked the previous pattern again and yes, this one came up trumps, so got some suitable yarn and ready to go!
