Olga, you're a lifesaver. I bought the same yarn, and it's so happens to be in the same color as yours. For days, I have been trying to come up with a simply stitch that looks good on this overly bulky yarn. Everything I tried ended up looking super ugly. With this type of yarn, the stitches don't have any definition. Instead, they blend into one big lump. I was to the point of packing up the unopened skeins to ship them back for a return.Then, miraculously, I came across your video. I cannot thank you enough. I followed along & I was very happy with the results. I probably will never buy this yarn again, but I bet your pattern will still look super nice on a less bulkier type of yarn. Thanks again!

Hi Olga. Thank you so much for this. I made numerous blankets during Covid using the Bernat Blanket. I always landed up doing the whole blanket in single crochet, but it drove me insane always having to watch that I never added or lost stitches. It really is tough to control that unless you count. I sent one to my mother-in-law in Israel who told me this is the first time in almost 20 years that she is now able to sleep a full night. It obviously works like a weighted blanket. I cannot wait to try this pattern now. Is this the size of a throw or an actual blanket?? PS My new favorite is bernat velvet extra!!!!! Love it! Question: Do you have any idea where to buy the massive yarn for hand knitting that will not cost over $100?!!!
@OlgaPoltava3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie, thank you for your comment! Crochet blankets made with this yarn are so comforting! I made mine 48 by 38 inches, which is a lapghan size. Hi! I do the same as Bailey Morgan, but I wrap one around the other a few times, then knot the tails twice, pulling tight each time. Leave yourself at least a few inches of yarn for each tail after the knots are tied. (I like about 3 or 4 inches left over. I just don't trust cutting them off close to the knots, but a lot of people do.) After you weave the tails into the afghan, the knots will not show. Happy crocheting! ♥️💐♥️

As a child, my mother and grandmother tried and tried to teach me to crochet. I could make a chain stitch a mile long lickety split, but to turn my work and come back across was where it stopped. No matter how they tried it never made sense, it wasn't a right handed vs left handed issues either, we were all right handed, I just couldn't get it. I took a beginner's knitting class and took to it like a duck to water. My mother asked "How are you able to work two needles but you can't work one?" LOL. Not sure, but I love knitting. While searching KZbin for some knitting ideas I ran across some beginner's crocheting videos and thought I would give it another whirl. Low and behold, I have learned to crochet!! I love it as much as knitting (and you see results of your work quicker than knitting). I have no idea why I couldn't learn from two very good crocheters but I was able to learn with the videos...maybe because the videos are presented/shot in a "from your point of view" like the video's are being shot over the instructors shoulder, but it actually looks like YOU are doing it, and the good thing is you can pause and rewind as often as you need to learn it. Seek out these videos, they are great and will help you, believe me. Good luck 😁

There is a way to slow down the vidio using the gear ⚙️ looking icon. Usually when you tape the 3 dots at top of video. But she really is not going that fast. It's a v-stitch pattern. To make a V-Stitch, in the same stitch you work 1 dc, 1 Chain, 1 dc-all into the same stitch. Then you skip two chains and then work another dc. She ends with a dc, chain 3 turn, then just work a v-stitch into the v-stitch from the row below. End row by doing a dc into the top chain from the chain 3 from previous row. Then chain 3 and turn. Then repeat v-stitch into every v-stitch. If you are not able to follow her vidio or the written instructions than it is not her. You just need more practice crocheting.
