Dude his art is fucking horrible. People make fun of rob leifield but David finches is just plain worse. His shading is ass, his shades every single thing as if it has the exact same volume or amplitude. His anatomy is dogshit and his proportions are blocky and stiff. He’s also terrible at drawing faces

I’m an artist and I can only use ink. I use black sharpies to draw. I can’t seem to use pencils. You are really good at it.

See, I’m the opposite. I wish I was confident enough in my abilities to lay down a pen or marker line without a reference. I need to use pencil, because then I always have the option to erase something if I don’t like how it looks. Can’t do that with ink.

I used to draw like this. Then I got into animation and was asked to stop doing this on storyboards. It took me a while to Stop cross hatching on storyboards. It can't be used in animation. 😅

Some artists actually don’t use inks precisely because of that! I know Paolo P simply does well done pencils and then his pencilwork is tweaked in photoshop to hit black and whites as is!

David uses 2mm Staedtler 2H leads with a Staedtler Mars 780 2mm drop clutch. As for the length of the lead, that's how he sharpens it for his preference.
