Yayyyy...another Evelyn video!! So happy to see you!! As someone in their 60's I always think how wise you are for a young woman. Such great advice and tips on how to curate our home in a meaningful way. I have been known to go thrifting and pick up items that I think are a great deal but then realize that I don't really have the spot for them. I also love Homegoods and Homesense for original and highend looking items at a more adorable price. Lately I too have been trying to be more intentional with my purchases. I had picked up a few new items in the past 2 weeks from different stores that in the moment, I loved and wanted but once I had time to really think about it and examine my own surroundings, I took them back. Aww hi!! Thank you so so much!! Such a lovely compliment 🥹 I wanted share what I have learned along the way. I feel like as a creator I kept thinking I had to purchase items, especially if they were a good deal or something that was trendy. But like you mentioned, after sitting on it I found myself not liking it as much or I felt that it didn’t flow with the rest of my decor. Unfortunately a lot of the times it was too late to return. So now I try to be a lot more intentional and find items that can work in multiple spaces. Its nice knowing Im not the only one guilty of this haha! So glad you enjoyed the video!! Great advice, Evelyn. I love the idea of adding things you find in thrift and antique stores. Those special things that you find really make a house your own. I am so lucky to have some great inherited Scandinavian mid-century pieces from my parents that I am working into our new home. With lots of DIYs and fun finds from thrift shops, too. Smart Girl!!!! I absolutely agree with Everything you said. It’s So True that our taste changes and evolves over time. I used to be completely into the bohemian and coastal style. I Never thought I would move away from it. Oh the things that I have given away and donated…. Yikes!!!! I especially love what you said about how getting rid of some items can feel hard…. Great tips Evelyn! Lately I did fall in the buying because it’s trending but stopped myself from doing that. I became very intentional and careful. I also don’t like faux florals too much so I only own 2-3 types. I love getting fresh flowers instead. ❤

I just did two major hauls at Hobby Lobby and Target! Ugh, I feel guilty now! I picked up tons of spring florals because I felt my home was lacking in this department but I'm not very good at styling greenery. I don't want my home to look cluttered or like an old lady with plastic plants. Now I feel bad because I wasn't very intentional about it. How do you know if you've gone overboard with faux plants or you're just layering?

Do not feel guilty!! I actually think your purchases were intentional, you needed greenery so you got it! I think 1-2 arrangements per room is good. It can get a little overwhelming when there are too many in one room! Hope that helps 🥰

@@evelyn.hernandez Would you say a faux tree counts as an arrangement? My dining room has a olive tree, plus a large eucalyptus arrangement on the large table that seats twelve. I just added a small vase of those lavender stems from Target on the buffet and some small green branches on the opposing console. I had a feeling that was too much…

@@AllySa33I would say it does! I would have to see the space but definitely an arrangement on the table. If you feel like its too much you can switch out an arrangement for a table lamp, it gives the same height 😊
