I've got a masse cue coming, and look forward to getting decently good with it just for fun. What do you think of Coriolis' method of aiming, where the point on the cloth your tip is pointed at, in relation to the contact point of the cueball, determines the final direction after the break point?

I use a masse, when the object Ball is virtually touching the Cue Ball. In UK Pool it would result in a Double hit or Push shot to play normal stroke shot. If played well, I can use the spin after impact to get the Cue Ball where i want it, or, if played poorly, you get the Thud sound and the walk of shame, back to your chair.

Hey Florian I’m new to this, what is the best size cue shaft for the massé shot? I currently have a Meucci pro shaft with a 13mm medium-hard tip. It’s a basic over the counter sell. Is it better to go 9.5-10.5mm with a super soft kamui tip? What do you suggest?

Hi Florian! I got a question about your aiming. When I look at time 5:57 it is clear that you have the cue outside of your aiming center. So it seems to me that you basically "guesstimate" the aim on such shot, you trade the aim a bit for more power on the shot, is that right?
@VenomTrickshotsOfficial3 жыл бұрын
That shot at 5:57 I still aim like I am banking it. General area though, not super accurate because yeah some guesstimate comes into play
@baspier14 жыл бұрын
APA does not allow for a Masse cue, I have a break cue with a very hard tip and a CF shaft on my predator cue with a medium tip (I do use Kamui Roku chalk). I have found it very difficult to do the masse shots legally in tournament play. I would like to see more masse shots using cues not designed for masse shots. Or are they not possible? Also, the Kamui Roku is great for normal play, but I find the Kamui 1.21 provides more grip for masse versus the Roku. Have you tried different chalk for the masses shots? I have the .98, 1.21 and the Roku, with the Roku for everyday play and the 1.21 for extreme masse shots. Oh, cloth is Simonis slate color 860.
@VenomTrickshotsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
for masse you can do with a standard cue, just need a soft tip and good chalk, kamui 1.21 is what I use
@CUE_STROKES4 жыл бұрын
standard cue can have you masse....... thats what i use daily and i masse alot with my 13mm soft tip and 0.98b kamui chalk. its worthy to note that masse are advanced spins.... you need to really get your hands used to leveled spins and gradually work your way to masse

I may have ask this question before Florian but I was always curious how does the cue ball only have the Masse effect when you aim 3 or 9 o'clock when the cue is only elevated. How does the cue ball not have the masse effect when the cue is parallel to the the table. I've asked friends of mine who are pool coaches or really advanced players and all of their answers are "that's just how masse works" or along those lines of that answer. Could you please attempt in providing a better answer 😂😂? Than you for any help given!
@Sahta994 жыл бұрын
When cue is elevated you re putting downwards force on the ball, which causes two things, rotation on the ball and a slight jump. When the ball jumps slightly and then returns to the table, the rotation takes over and causes the curve. Without the slight jump, rotation can't take over. Just like top or bottom spin don't take over until a contact with the other ball slows down the initial motion of the ball (the translation, in physics terms)
@VenomTrickshotsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
with spin parallel to the table all you get is what we call 'squirt' or deflection so sort of like a mini masse but you cant see it
@CUE_STROKES4 жыл бұрын
force, friction, displacement and EXTREME SPIN................. these are responsible for change in direction of the cue. for advanced play, you can still aim straight, now elevate your cue and give it the required spin, the ball curves and later gets back into position of initial aim and pots a ball........ i have done that couple of times .....

you actually need to do alot of practice to begin masse shots........ i suggest to start to play around with extreme spins(english) first, then its backed into your subconscious...........after a while try the masse, it becomes like magic............ if your one of those players that dont play with spins, masses becomes a big assignment for you

Terrible. “Any good pool player..” well I am not. I am trying to be one which I why I am watching your videos. Zero instruction on where to hit the ball. Pointing a finger instead of a diagram of a ball doesn’t cut it. No discussion on angle of the cue. Maybe those who already know how find this video more helpful, but I found myself even more confused.
