Digital Performer provides dozens of color themes to easily set up a color look. I particularly like Carbon Fiber Red. There are also individual track colors and text sizes with easy to control choices. You'd think Logic would try to rival DP on this. But thanks for this! This is an excellent tutorial.

Yep, it’s mad, must be such a simple thing to implement!… glad this was useful anyway :)

I normally mute background music but this is beautiful. One of yours is it, Simon?

Thanks! Yeah, my wife keeps asking me to make some chilled background music for working to, so this is just experimenting with synths etc. Glad you like it!

I should have added that you need to close & reopen Logic in order for any changes to take effect

Hi Simon. You'd be a total hero if you could tell us where the code to change the default track color is. I mean, when creating new tracks, by default, midi is green, pattern is purple, drummer is yellow, and audio is blue. Would love to be able to change that. Thanks in advance!

Hello Simon... Really interesting tutorial... But I would like to go further in customizing the interface of Logic and know how to create black and white for the track colors... Additionally I am looking to create a real dark mode particularly for the command bar and the toolbar... So if you could do a tutorial in this direction or share this kind of information, that would be really great for me... Thanks in advance for your answer.. . Have a good day !!!!!

I’ll put it on the list for next year! :) Glad you enjoyed the video. There is a way to create black (0% brightness) or white (100% brightness) but not both sadly

This seems great! I was wondering if by any chance a way to figure out the original Logic colors, say Logic 7, before the new stuff which I don't like at all - however I can't find the same plist file in the contents of Logic 7 - I used those colors for YEARS and still like them - EDIT - now that I tried your numbers it DOES look like the originals just in reverse order - I also see that I can save different plist's for different moods - AMAZING!

Oh brilliant! I only started with Logic when it was Logic Pro X, but pleased to hear the colours I listed are working okay :)

Wait what's the different plist thing? Can you have multiple colour palettes?

@@simonpassmore It's kind of a simple workaround -I have a folder called LPX Color Picker, in it: first I made an alias of the 'Resources" folder, so 1 click and I'm there - I put the default plist in one folder labeled "default", I put yours in another folder labeled "bright" and a third one in a folder called "muted" that I experimenting with - they obviously need to be separated because you can't rename them - when I want to change I click the 'Resources" alias, and drop whichever modified .plist I want (default, bright or other) and open Logic - takes a couple seconds and I can make all the weird color versions I want - the million dollar question however is how did you find which file (among thousands) to modify 😲 I'll send you a screenshot if I can figure out how 👍🏻
