When I enter the KWGT app and browse for a widget, the background on the widget is a white checkerboard background, and that makes the widgets practically invisible, and I have to add it to my home screen to actually be able to see it. Please help anybody reading this.

Every app you install takes up battery Nova and kwgt widgets are no exception. But they dont sip on your battery aggressively, if that's your question.
