How to Customize Sticker Templates in Silhouette Studio // DIY Printable Planner Stickers

Hello there planner people! I meant to put this video up a LONG WHILE ago but life got in the way. But here it is - how to customize the planner sticker templates in the shop in Silhouette Studio. You can do this using the free version so you don't need anything special to do this - just the software and your Silhouette cutting machine! Heck you can even do this and hand cut too!

Hi quick question. Do you think having a bleed is necessary so you never risk having white border or miscut? I have not tried your technique yet but I was just wondering if you have ever tried making the box slightly bigger thsn the cut line. Thank you. Loving your videos.

I bought your hobonichi a5 and weeks templates and i used to cut them by hand. Im just got my first silouette, a portrait. I edited them in Canva is there a video you can recomend to help me cut them once they are done in canva?

what size should these be when I cut them I feel like I can't line them up after sizing them

The blackout file should be 6.75 inches wide (make sure the proportions are locket and just change the width.) and the white transparent file should be 8.5x11 inches. Make sure everything is centered to the page and it should line up 👍🏼

do you have a video on how to make a template like this? Is the gray on the left piece transparent? I got lost when you bring the left file on top of the designs and how cool that works!? Thanks!

I don’t have a video on making the templates since I have them in my Etsy shop. But yes the gray is transparent. You’ll get a white file with the ‘holes’ for the designs and then a black out file to trace.

I have brought a few of these types of files I don’t have clue how to use them I assume the black out ones are for cut files?, but I have some transparent ones and some line ones I brought off creative fabrica but can’t ask the designers on there? It’s says can be used in photoshop etc gimp I want to know if they work on afinity designer ink scape etc and how you use them not in design space or silhouette etc ?

You know I’ve thought about offering some of my stuff on those sites but if you can’t contact the designer with questions maybe I shouldn’t! BUT have you tried seeing if you can find the designer on social media? Maybe there you can find an email for them - that is so odd you can’t ask questions! What file types were you provided? If you’ve been given an SVG or PSD file and the other softwares you mention support those files you may be able to use them in other softwares. I offer a PNG and SVG mainly bc I focus on silhouette, Cricut design space, Inkscape, and other free softwares like pixlr and Canva.

So if you have a black out PNG file you can open that in Inkscape and use the ‘trace bitmap’ feature. That will trace it and make it an SVG file. Then you’d just delete the original blackout file and work with your trace. After you’ve traced it you can go to path > break apart and it should break into the individual squares circles boxes etc. the. You can fill with color, picture, etc. you would then group all of that, put the transparent file over it, select them both and play with the alignment - align center, etc - until it was lined up. It is a shame that they don’t have a way to contact the designer especially with questions.

@@MoeHoward516 thank you I know it’s frustrating I’ve watched loads on you tube esp yours I like your concept that why should you be stuck with all you work in cricut etc when you want to use it in other places , I’m stuck where to get started digitally too so much info on you tube it’s overwhelming.
