Not sure if somethings else is going on but u went from 5% cpu to 21% and from 49% ram to 85% ram, quite frankly thats insane for a few cosmetic changes.

I think this could be due to OBS Studio that is being used for screen recording. It might be taking more resources to record the screen when more stuff is going on...

I checked again without OBS: CPU: 2% -> 16% RAM: 38% -> 60% (So I think there was something taking up more RAM at that time...)

I assume you're talking about the search box in the taskbar? I think that is due to the search highlights option being turned off. Also do check if "Search box" is selected in the taskbar settings.

It uses extra resources so yeah, but I believe it pauses when we're using any fullscreen app. Also, there's an option in the settings to pause the wallpaper when on battery power in laptop.

It isn't. Windows is customisable but not as Linux is. Hyprland, i3, sway and any other wm will be 100x more customisable and the ram will be 20% 😂

A simple thing that I customise, custom folder logos because that's what I need. promoting linux to windows users among which most are only for having a OS that has software support, settings being permanently in a OS where they are, arranged and already looking good, integrating into a well developed ecosystem, having good OS, good animations and more, looks without being even a 1% techie. Linux has, only soe prebuilt software, an app library which has a limited set of apps compared to windows, and is only for people who want customisation according to what they need or want. Most people dont care about the customisation. Windows works for free too, we can even permanently activate it for free!
