Wow what a mission to customise ones reports. I don't understand why Google didn't just keep all of the attributes in the reporting and allowed the user to customise and remove ones they don't need. Sure the new GA4 interface is cleaner but I didn't know that you could event get to those attributes without needing to customise. I've been using Data Studio for over a year just to get access to my data with the new GA4 properties... thanks for this video, I do wish things could be a bit more clear from GA instructions.

At 4:48 in the video, I don't see the same options as you see. When I type "Landing Page," I only see "Landing page + query string." Any ideas on why this is? And is there a way to get the landing page without the query string?

This is a very fresh change introduced by Google. One of the workarounds is to exclude query parameters with the help of GTM. However, it does have a downside - such changes would be permanent and not retroactive. Unfortunately, GA4 does not offer a filter with the exclude query parameters option in the UI yet but maybe they will introduce it in the future. This change was also unexpected, and we discovered it by chance. This shows that GA4 is still under heavy development.

We must to be careful with the Landing Pages report in GA4, now the Page Views are attributed to the Landing Page where the session started. For example, if you go to Engagement/Pages and Screens, and you compare the Page Views for the dimensions “Page path” vs “Landing Page” you will see that the same URL/Page shows very different numbers and are much higher for “Landing Pages” that’s because of how GA4 is counting/attributing the Page Views, all to the first visited page.

Dear Admin, I am working on a React Single Page Application. Due to some business needs, I want to use my CUSTOM_PAGE_VIEW rather than using the Default PAGE_VIEW in the GTM SIDE. So I disabled sending the default SEND_PAGE_VIEW as FALSE from GTM. May I know, Will CUSTOM_PAGE_VIEW affects any other valuable reports belonging to default PAGE_VIEW like Page Views, Screens, Session Views, Average User Engagement Time, etc...? What are the things I have to be aware of when disabling the default SEND_PAGE_VIEW as FALSE from GTM? Thanks in advance

When you change default views this apply just for personal use or for all users?
@MeasureSchool2 жыл бұрын
This applies to the whole property so that all users who have access to it will see the modified layout.
