Can you make the first guideline with clippers lever closed or half way instead of the Slimline? If so, can you still get rid of the line with the lever closed?

Nice fade, instead of going with the number 1 first can I go with the 1/16 guard first then the. #1? Anyone?

saveion ruiz-smith you can, but from my experience I always slowly work the guideline out. It’s marathon. Sometimes going straight to the 1/16 can cause it to look choppy and also the 1/16 can sometimes make a new line that’s tough to remove. Depending on the hair texture.

Great cut. Do you always go from 1-open to half-open immediately or do you ever use your number one guard to blend first before going with the half guard?

A lot of times I go straight to the 1 guard closed and blend out, but for the sake of the vid and showing a safer way to fade, I did it the other way on here.

Lindel Brown depends on the client. U can wash it right out if u want. Some clients get 3-5 days

Porsche Roberson 1/2 guard for andis is the 0 guard

Joshua Cruz yes i did. At 5:06 I used the .5 guard. At 9:10 I used the 1.5.

@@millionairemindset7484 you're validating my point. Putting in a hard precise line makes it harder to remove. The balding line is NOT something you want to see. I barely put my lines in and my fades are flawless..never put in definite lines if you want a smooth fade..try it...33 years experience

I used to do that, too, because I've seen barbers do it. Then I got smart by experimenting and I figured I could just create the initial guideline with the clipper in the closed lever position.
