I do my own self cuts (I have waves) and I always was confused about why my fade always ended up so high when all I used were 2 guards max. Know that I learned you have to fade down I’ll be good next time I cut my hair, thank you Jeezy🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

fading up, then down, then up, then down, etc. helped me in not fading too high. Basically lever open up, then half down, then closed down; 1 guard open up, then 0 guard open down, 0 guard half down, then closed down, etc. Also stretching the skin with my finger while fading to keep the fades tighter and sometimes jumping guards and being careful when debulking until u find what works the fastest for ur hair. Now I can knock the fade down in 10-15 minutes each side
