I use 8inches for mine. But the back slit is usually around 8- 10 inches from the hemline to the hipline, depending on how you want it

What of the neck york, how many inches

In my own case here, I didn't use neck York but if you wish to add or use a neck york , you can make the size of your neck York to 6inches (response is given based on the cloth sewed in the tutorial video)

No ,we are not joining (or cutting out) the waist line, the purpose of that line is just to show our waist line and to easily draft out our dartleg and to avoid the bulgeness that normally occur at the zipper allowance of the gown when fixing your zipper
